The Bimota DB1 is for sure one of my favorite motorcycle designs, even though I've yet to try one. This is a 650 prototype built by Bimota,  commisioned by Ducati. Bimota would later go on to develop the DB1 pretty much based on this bike.

Never knew this exisisted until I tripped over some scans in a BMW forum. The water-cooled and desmodromic BMW R1 prototype. That engine looks rough. Via. Some more info here.
